Why This Record Matters
Released in 1980, Little Stevie Orbit was Forbert’s third studio album, following the commercial breakthrough of Jackrabbit Slim and “Romeo’s Tune.” It reached No. 70 on the album chart, but did not produce a hit on the scale of its predecessor. Pete Solley’s production places Forbert’s self-written songs in a fuller band setting, from “Get Well Soon” and “Cellophane City” to the brief “Lucky.”

Collector Note
This U.S. Nemperor JZ 36595 pressing is from Columbia’s Pitman plant, identified by the “P” prefix in both runouts. Both sides carry the “STERLING” mark; the release credits Greg Calbi for mastering at Sterling Sound. This copy has Side A “-1J” and Side B “-1A” matrix suffixes.
