Why This Record Matters
Steve Winwood was Winwood’s first solo album after his work with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith, establishing the next phase of his recording career. Produced by Winwood and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell in association with Mark Miller Mundy, the album was recorded at Basing Street Studios, Chipping Norton Recording Studios and with Island Mobile. The six-track set includes “Hold On,” “Midland Maniac” and “Vacant Chair,” the latter co-written with Vivian Stanshall.
