Why This Record Matters
Hero And Heroine marked a more progressive and symphonic direction for Strawbs, built around Dave Cousins’ songwriting and John Hawken’s prominent keyboard work. Produced by Cousins and Tom Allom and recorded at Rosenberg Studios in Copenhagen, the album includes the multipart “Autumn” suite and the title track. It became the band’s highest-charting US studio album.
