Why This Record Matters
Stop Making Sense documents Talking Heads during their December 1983 performances at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and serves as the soundtrack to Jonathan Demme’s acclaimed concert film. The album features live versions of “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down The House,” “Once In A Lifetime,” and “Life During Wartime.” The expanded touring lineup includes Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Ednah Holt, and Lynn Mabry alongside the four core members.
Collector Note
This 1984 US Sire edition is a Specialty Records Corporation pressing, identified by the SP runout markings and E A S T embossing on the side B label. The supplied variant 1 runouts carry STERLING and TJ markings for Sterling Sound and Ted Jensen, and this edition uses the custom paper inner sleeve rather than the cardstock version. This copy includes the confirmed original inner sleeve.
