Weekend Warriors followed Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever and Double Live Gonzo! period, continuing his late-1970s hard-rock sound with a guitar-centered studio set. The album includes “Need You Bad,” “Venom Soup,” “Smokescreen,” and the title track. Produced by Lew Futterman, Cliff Davies, and Tom Werman, the record represents Nugent's final studio album of the 1970s.
