Why This CD Matters
A Decade Of Hits 1969-1979 collects material from the Allman Brothers Band’s first album through Enlightened Rogues, including “Statesboro Blues,” “Midnight Rider,” “Ramblin' Man,” “Jessica,” and “Whipping Post.” The selections document both the Duane Allman era and the band’s subsequent work with Dickey Betts, Chuck Leavell, and Lamar Williams. Bill Levenson compiled the collection from recordings originally produced by figures including Tom Dowd, Johnny Sandlin, and Adrian Barber.
