The Beatles – 1962-1966 (2 x Vinyl LP, 1976, Capitol Records SKBO 3403, Reissue)

Why This Record Matters
1962-1966 surveys The Beatles' recordings from their early singles through the mid-1960s, including "Love Me Do," "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Yesterday," and "In My Life." The two-record compilation traces the band's rapid development from early rock and roll and beat music into increasingly sophisticated studio recordings and songwriting. Produced by George Martin, the collection concludes with the 1966 singles-era recordings "Paperback Writer," "Eleanor Rigby," and "Yellow Submarine."
