The Beatles – Please Please Me (CD, Album, Reissue, US, Parlophone / Apple – CDP 7 46435 2)

Why This CD Matters
The Beatles’ debut captures the band at the start of their rapid rise, pairing Lennon-McCartney originals with spirited takes on American rock ’n’ roll and R&B. “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Please Please Me,” and the closing “Twist And Shout” showcase the group’s lively performances and close vocal blend. Parlophone released the album in the UK in March 1963 after the title song became the group’s first number one in most UK charts.
