Why This CD Matters
The Dirty Boogie became a major release of the late-1990s swing revival, with “Jump Jive An' Wail” and Setzer’s instrumental performance of “Sleepwalk” receiving Grammy Awards. The 13-track program combines Brian Setzer originals with songs associated with Louis Prima, Santo & Johnny, Carl Perkins, and other earlier rock and swing performers. Gwen Stefani joins Setzer on “You're The Boss,” while Peter Collins produced most of the album and Phil Ramone produced “Hollywood Nocturne.”

This 1998 U.S. Interscope Records CD carries catalog number INTD-90183 and barcode 606949018320. This identified edition was manufactured by Universal in Pinckneyville, Illinois and was issued in a standard jewel case with a clear tray and eight-page booklet. Bob Ludwig mastered the album at Gateway Mastering, while most tracks were recorded and mixed by John Holbrook at The Village Recorder.
