Why This Record Matters
Shake It Up was The Cars' fourth studio album and continued the band's combination of new wave, pop rock, and synthesizer-driven production. The album includes “Shake It Up,” “Since You're Gone,” and “I'm Not The One,” with Ric Ocasek writing all but one of the album's nine tracks. Roy Thomas Baker produced the album, while George Marino handled the mastering at Sterling Sound.

Collector Note
This is the 1981 US Elektra 5E-567 Specialty Records Corporation pressing, identified by the SP markings on the labels and supplied runouts. The supplied matrices carry STERLING and RTB-2 markings, with the release mastered at Sterling Sound and plated through Sheffield Lab Matrix.
