Why This CD Matters
London Calling expanded The Clash’s punk foundation with reggae, rockabilly, ska, soul, and other influences across a 19-track program. Produced by Guy Stevens, the album features Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, and Topper Headon on songs including “London Calling,” “Clampdown,” “The Guns Of Brixton,” and “Train In Vain.” Originally released in 1979, it became a central album in the development of British punk and post-punk.
