Why This CD Matters
Born Into This marked the Cult's return to studio recording after 2001's Beyond Good and Evil, with Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy again at the center of the band's hard-rock sound. The album includes “Dirty Little Rockstar,” “Illuminated,” “I Assassin,” and the title track. The Savage Edition expands the album with five additional recordings, including demos and a full-length version of “Savages.”
Collector Note
This 2007 U.S. Savage Edition was issued by Roadrunner Records and New Wilderness under catalog number 1686-179602. The two-disc configuration pairs the ten-track Born Into This album with a five-track bonus disc containing “Stand Alone,” “War Pony Destroyer,” two demos, and the full-length version of “Savages.” Released October 2, 2007, this expanded edition contains 15 tracks across the two discs.
