Livin' On The Fault Line reflects the Doobie Brothers’ transition toward the polished soul- and R&B-influenced sound of the Michael McDonald era. Produced by Ted Templeman, the album features McDonald, Pat Simmons, Jeff Baxter and Tom Johnston, with David Paich providing string and horn arrangements. “You Belong To Me,” written by McDonald and Carly Simon, was later also recorded by Simon.

US 1977 Warner Bros. pressing manufactured at Capitol Records’ Winchester plant, identified by the Winchester rifle symbol in the runouts. The original embossed cover was issued with a custom photo-and-credits inner sleeve, which is included with this copy.
