The Doors – Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine (2xLP, Compilation, Repress, Specialty Pressing, c. late 1970s, Elektra 8E-6001)

Why This Record Matters
Originally released in 1972, this gold-certified double album was the first Doors compilation issued after Jim Morrison’s death. Its 22 selections span recordings by the original quartet from 1967–71, including “Break On Through,” “L.A. Woman,” and “Riders on the Storm.” The collection also includes deeper cuts such as “Who Scared You” and “(You Need Meat) Don’t Go No Further.”

Collector Note
This copy is the U.S. Elektra 8E-6001 Specialty Records Corporation repress, identified by the SRC marks in the runouts; Discogs describes this variant as a late-1970s repress. The four etched runouts identify this specific variant, with the SRC logo stamped on each side.
