Why This Record Matters
Hotline is the J. Geils Band’s sixth studio album, recorded and mixed at the Record Plant in New York City. Produced by Bill Szymczyk and Allan Blazek, it captures the band’s hard-driving blend of blues, rock, and R&B on tracks including “Love-itis,” “Easy Way Out,” and “Believe In Me.”

Collector Note
1975 US Atlantic repress manufactured by Presswell, identified by the PR markings in both runouts and Warner Communications perimeter text on the labels. The edition was issued in a distinctive telephone-shaped die-cut sleeve and was mastered at Criteria Studios by Alex Sadkin.
