The John Wright Trio – South Side Soul (Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue, Stereo, 180g, 2024, Prestige CR00721)

Why This Record Matters
South Side Soul is one of pianist John Wright's most respected recordings, blending blues-infused hard bop with the soulful Chicago jazz sound of the early 1960s. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, the album has become a favorite among collectors for its groove-driven trio performances and accessible yet sophisticated musicianship.
