Why This Record Matters
The Flat Earth is Thomas Dolby’s second studio album and expands his electronic pop approach with funk, jazz, and atmospheric elements. It includes “Hyperactive!,” along with “Dissidents,” “Screen Kiss,” and Dolby’s interpretation of Dan Hicks’ “I Scare Myself.” Dolby produced the album and worked with musicians including Matthew Seligman, Kevin Armstrong, Adele Bertei, and Robyn Hitchcock.

This 1984 U.S. Capitol ST-12309 edition is a Winchester pressing, identified by the ─◁ markings in the supplied runouts. Both sides carry Wally Traugott’s “Wally” signature and stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL markings, identifying the Capitol mastering. This copy includes the original inner sleeve.
