The Golden Age Of Wireless is Thomas Dolby’s debut album and an early showcase for his combination of synthesizers, electronic production, and conventional rock instrumentation. This initial U.S. configuration predates the addition of “She Blinded Me With Science” and includes “Leipzig” and “Urges,” the 7-inch version of “Airwaves,” and the original rock arrangement of “Radio Silence.” Dolby produced the album himself, establishing the technology-focused synth-pop and new wave approach that became central to his early work.

This 1982 U.S. Harvest ST-12203 edition is a Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Winchester pressing, confirmed by the Winchester markings in the supplied runouts. Both sides carry “A Wally,” identifying Wally Traugott’s Capitol mastering, with “MASTERED BY CAPITOL” also stamped in the runouts. This is the original pre-“She Blinded Me With Science” U.S. track configuration, retaining material subsequently changed on later configurations of the album.
