Why This Record Matters
Tom Tom Club was formed by Talking Heads rhythm section Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz, with the album recorded and mixed at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. The record features “Wordy Rappinghood” and “Genius Of Love,” two defining tracks from the group’s debut. “Genius Of Love” became particularly influential through its extensive sampling and reuse in later hip-hop and pop recordings.

Collector Note
This U.S. Sire SRK 3628 edition is a later reissue/repress pressed by Specialty Records Corporation. The Winchester rifle symbol in the supplied runouts identifies Winchester-originated metalwork, and STERLING is stamped on both sides. This edition uses the later Sire label design without rim text.
