Why This Record Matters
Signing Off was UB40’s 1980 debut album and established the Birmingham group’s early reggae sound before the more pop-oriented international success that followed. The album includes “Food For Thought,” “King,” “Tyler,” and the Randy Newman composition “I Think It's Going To Rain Today.” The original configuration was expanded by a three-track 45 RPM 12-inch containing “Madam Medusa,” “Strange Fruit,” and “Reefer Madness.”

This 1980 Portuguese Graduate Records edition combines the GRADLP 2 album with the accompanying three-track 12-inch 45 RPM record. The supplied Variant 2 hand-etched matrices are GRAD LP 2 A, UB 40 B LP2, UB 40 12 A, and UB 40 B, matching the Portuguese configuration. This copy retains both original black printed inner sleeves.
