Van Halen’s 1978 debut established the original lineup of David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Anthony, and Alex Van Halen and introduced songs including “Runnin' With The Devil,” “Eruption,” and “Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love.” The album also includes the band’s version of the Kinks’ “You Really Got Me.” Produced by Ted Templeman and recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood, the album became a major entry in late-1970s American hard rock.
