Why This Record Matters
Propaganda is a 1979 A&M sampler documenting the label’s involvement with the emerging new wave and power-pop scene. Side A includes live 1979 performances by Joe Jackson and The Police, while Side B includes studio material from The Reds, Squeeze, David Kubinec, Shrink, and others. Joe Jackson’s “Don’t Ask Me” was previously unreleased when this compilation appeared.

This 1979 U.S. A&M Records SP-4786 stereo edition is a Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressing, identified by the P designation in the supplied runouts. The album was assembled and mastered at A&M Recording Studios in Hollywood, with Bernie Grundman credited for mastering.
