Various – Shrek (Music From The Original Motion Picture) (CD, Album, 2001, DreamWorks Records 0044-50305-2)

Why This CD Matters
The Shrek soundtrack helped define the musical identity of the 2001 DreamWorks animated film through its combination of pop rock, alternative music, dance-pop, and original score selections. Its program includes Smash Mouth’s “All Star” and “I’m A Believer,” Eels’ “My Beloved Monster,” Rufus Wainwright’s “Hallelujah,” and The Proclaimers’ “I’m On My Way.” The closing track, “True Love’s First Kiss,” represents the film’s original score by Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell.
