Welenga is the debut album by Cameroonian singer Wes Madiko and includes “Alane,” the song that brought him international chart success. The album was produced, composed, arranged, recorded, and mixed by Michel Sanchez, co-founder of Deep Forest, combining African-rooted vocals with electronic and pop production. This 1998 edition expands the program with “We Don't Need No War” and “Midiwa Bôl (I Love Football).”

This European 1998 Saint George edition carries catalog number SAN 485146-9 and contains 14 tracks, including two bonus tracks. The disc was made in Austria, and the album is credited to Vlado Meller for mastering.
