Why This CD Matters
Snakebite traces Whitesnake's beginnings, combining the band's original four-track 1978 EP with four recordings drawn from David Coverdale's solo album Northwinds. The opening material features Coverdale with Micky Moody, Bernie Marsden, Neil Murray, Dave Dowle, and Pete Solley and was produced by Martin Birch. “Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City” became a longstanding part of Whitesnake's live repertoire and one of the defining songs of the band's early blues-rock period.
