Why This Record Matters
Los Angeles is X’s debut album and a defining release from the early Los Angeles punk scene, featuring Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and D.J. Bonebrake. Produced by Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, it includes “Nausea,” “The Unheard Music,” the title track, and a cover of the Doors’ “Soul Kitchen.” The album established the combination of punk, rock and roll, and Cervenka and Doe’s intertwined vocals that characterized X’s early work.

Collector Note
This 1980 US Slash Records SR-104 edition was issued in a folded white cardboard cover with artwork printed directly on the cover and includes the original two-sided printed inner sleeve. The supplied SR-104-A AZ CB L1502 and SR-104-B AZ CB L1502 X runouts identify a Chris Bellman lacquer cut at Allen Zentz Mastering with plating at Greg Lee Processing.
