Why This Record Matters
Drums and Wires was XTC's third studio album and the first recorded with guitarist Dave Gregory after his arrival in the band. Produced by Steve Lillywhite, the album includes “Making Plans For Nigel,” “Life Begins At The Hop,” and “Complicated Game,” and marked an important development in the band's post-punk and new wave sound. The album also became XTC's first US album release and helped establish the band with an American audience.

This is the 1979 US Virgin VA 13134 Specialty Records Corporation pressing, with SPEC in the supplied runouts identifying the pressing plant. Both sides carry the @tGP signature of mastering engineer George Piros, documenting the Atlantic Studios mastering for this edition. This copy includes the original printed lyric inner sleeve.
